Berkeley, California based producer Thriftworks offers his own uniquely original take on forward thinking electronic music, weaving eclectic samples and explosive modern bass that continually pushes the envelope while taking the art of beat-crafting to new heights. Garnering much praise from fans and critics alike with his steady stream of new material, Thriftworks is quickly becoming known as one of the finest up and coming experimental producers with his outside the box sound and unclassifiable style. Thriftworks’ use of deep low-end and wall to wall synths seem to channel something ancient and mysterious, offering up an intoxicating musical high with an invigorating breath of fresh air. These sounds activate the senses, enrapture the mind, move the body and leave audiences begging for more.
Cory Wythe, the producer and guitarist better known as Marvel Years, has found a welcome place for himself within the increasingly popular glitch-hop / electro-soul dance music scene. In just a short period of time, his progression has become outright impossible to ignore. Much more than your average DJ/producer, Marvel Years incorporates electric guitar in his live performances. His approach to blending electronic beats and shredding soulful guitar on his original tracks and remixes creates a sound that is a unique hybrid of EDM combing glitch, retro-funk, classic rock, soul, jazz and hip-hop. “Classic rock has been a huge influence on me,” Wythe explains. “I love breathing new life into those older songs. I think that’s a good medium for bringing new listeners into my music because they can relate to that stuff. I improvise (on live guitar) over a lot of my stuff.”
MIDIcinal is the electro-funk, hip hop, bass and soul music producer, Scott Rhatigan. Currently based in Denver, CO, Scott is constantly exploring new boundaries of his production. Often times including a drummer or a horns player during his live sets, you will find yourself moving to a mix of classic old school boom bap with a new age bass-funk twist.
MIDIcinal has quickly gained a respect and a following in Colorado, sharing the stage recently with acts such as Break Science, Late Night Radio, Russ Liquid, Chris Karns, Blockhead, Esseks, Andreilien, Phutureprimitive, SuperVision and more! With plans to hit both the Midwest and the East Coast in early 2018, it’s advised that you keep an eye and an ear out for MIDIcinal as he pushes his limits to bring you what you need!
The story of GODLAZER begins with a 1200cc Harley Davidson Motorcycle ride across The Sangre de Cristo Mountains, one of the longest mountain chains on Earth. There among the mysterious Colorado Mountains an idea was forged, and a sound emerged from the heavens to attract “The Ultra Culture”, the people, who get down, dance, and come together for positive impact! The GODLAZER project since its creation has been a continuous journey of epic proportions…
Thanks to all of you, who have helped bring the light and the awesome energy into life. It melts my face off its face when I think about all the good vibes that resonate across the cosmos and I smile. Many hands make light work, and I would not have had any success without the help of many people who have spread the positive waves. I want to thank God, my family, and my friends for helping me spread the love that you all give me. It seems, unconditionally, without fail… day by day, you all are my inspiration to keep the lazers on melt! <3 I will never forget this… So close your eyes, and listen to the sounds from the underground.
